Scarf Hanae Mori Blue

Item # 220001.

In 1999, Hanae Mori, Japan’s first haute couture designer recognized by the Fédération française de la couture in France, honored JANM by designing a custom logoed scarf for the opening celebration of the museum’s Pavilion Building. Mori paved the way for designers like Issey Miyake, Rei Kawakubo, Yohji Yamamoto, and Kenzo to branch out from Japan into the international fashion world. Ms. Mori passed away in 2022 at the age of 96.

We have a limited number of these unique scarves available. The design incorporates Mori’s favorite butterfly signature with JANM’s logo on a sea of waves signifying the meeting of ideas and influences between the East and West. This luxurious scarf is made from 100% silk and measures 34 inches square.
