Last year we collaborated with a women’s collective in Kyrgyzstan and produced the first Asian American “hero” ornament in the likeness of Yuri Kochiyama. We were not intending to start a series, but we received so many enthusiastic suggestions that we have produced a second ornament—Kristi Yamaguchi!
In addition to being a World Champion skater and Olympic Gold medalist, Kristi is a children’s book author and the founder of the Always Dream Foundation. Through her
foundation, which promotes early childhood literacy, she continues to be an inspiration and a hero to many. Her “hero” ornament depicts Kristi wearing her 1992 Olympic gold medal. 8-1/2"H (from the edge of her skate!)
