Tommy Kono learned the sport of weightlifting while he and his family were incarcerated at the American concentration camp at Tule Lake. But despite the odds, he emerged as the most decorated American weightlifter in the history of the sport. Between 1952 and 1960, Kono won two Olympic Gold Medals, an Olympic Silver Medal, and six World Championship Titles.
