Childrens Day / Kodomo No Hi

May 5 is celebrated annually in Japan and by Nikkei around the world as Children’s Day. The day was originally called Tango no Sekku (Boy’s Day), but was renamed as Kodomo no hi in 1948 by the Japanese government as a day to celebrate the happiness of all children.
