Wisteria Mon Necklace

Item # 120150.

Two intertwined wisteria blossoms were originally a family mon (crest) in 13th century Japan. It was later adopted by the Jodo Shinshu Hongwanji Buddhist sect as their emblem with the flowers reflecting the beauty and impermanence of life and humility as symbolized by the downward hanging blossoms. Rendered in sterling silver, this 3/4” diameter pendant comes on an 18” sterling chain treated with a rhodium finish to prevent tarnishing.
