This DVD was created to accompany the traveling exhibition of the same name (currently at the Renwick Gallery at the Smithsonian Museum). The DVD contains two features:

The Story Behind the Objects By Rick Quan - This includes stories about the internees who created the objects in the exhibition as told by their children and grandchildren, as well as an interview with Delphine Hirasuna, who wrote the book and curated the show "The Art of Gaman"

Voices Long Silent By Bob Matsumoto - A re-edited version of the 1980 film produced by award-winning advertising creative director Bob Matsumoto that tells the stories of the Issei who died before seeing the redress movement bear fruit in the Civil Liberties Act of 1988. Through dramatic readings by actors of the East West Players, the hopes and dreams of the Issei generation and their ordeal of incarceration are shared.
