Plush Shiba Fukusuke

Item # 116809.

Fukusuke is a familiar image in Japanese culture, but not much has been written about him. He has become a symbol of good luck (particularly in business), and the image of a large–headed man bowing is one that has adorned many a restaurant and trademark. It is said that the image is based on a particularly successful merchant, who perhaps was a dwarf, from the 18th or 19th century. Along with the Maneki Neko, Fukusuke has become a ubiquitous symbol in Japanese luck iconography.

Here it has been merged with man’s best friend to bring best of luck to all dogs and dogowners! Soft and velvety. 5"H x 5"W
