Sho-Chiku-Bai Koda Farms Dishtowel

Item # 221130.

The symbols of Japanese New Year (pine-bamboo-plum) have been the logo for Koda Farms Sweet Rice since 1948. This is the sticky style of rice used for making mochi, the traditional New Year’s treat. We have borrowed their vintage logo to replicate the kind of mottainai dish towel that could be found in any Japanese American home when rice bags were made of cloth, not paper. It was common to re-purpose (and not waste!) the cloth bags into any number of useful household items. Cotton, and a generous 28” inches square, this towel can wrap and be part of a thoughtful gift!
