Noren are split curtains that were believed to confuse evil spirits and prevented them from entering an otherwise open doorway. Hand-painted using resist paste techniques with indigo dye on heavy weight cotton, this noren depicts traditional sho-chiku-bai motifs with a soaring crane. 60”L x 34”W. Hanging stick not included.
