Civilian Exclusion Instructions Magnet

Item # 110239.

Posted in public areas a month following President Roosevelt's signing of Executive Order 9066 on February 19, 1942, these instructions notified people of Japanese ancestry living on the West Coast of their impending forced removal from their homes. Based on these instructions, people were restricted to pack only what they could carry. Most suffered tremendous economic losses in addition to the humiliation of an unjust incarceration.

This magnet measures 2-1/2 by 3-1/2 inches. The full text of this document appears at janm.org/WWII-exclusion-order
