Japanese Culture Furoshiki

Item # 111842.

At first glance, this furoshiki looks like the ultimate in recycled wrapping--newspaper. But it gets even better. It comes from Japan, designed by an enterprising artist who decided to pull English content about Japanese culture off the internet and apply Western font treatments to the copy. Unfortunately, there was no attention paid to formatting, hyphenation, or context. (For example, what do racing camels have to do with mochi?)

The result is a entertaining, informative, multi-purposed furoshiki with factoids about sumo, senbei, judo, mochi, yukata, ukiyo-e, Japanese gardens, kendo, kanzashi, sensu, Japanese cuisine and language, and not surprisingly, furoshiki! 100% beige cotton, 29"x 29".
